We don’t often hear about agricultural tires in mainstream media, but some innovations truly deserve the spotlight. That’s the case for the world’s largest agricultural tire, a remarkable engineering feat by Yokohama-ATG (Alliance Tire Group). It was during the 2025 Farm Progress Show that the manufacturer unveiled this exceptional model: the IF1400/45R42 CFO Agriflex 372. Designed for the most demanding farming applications, this tire sets a new standard in the industry, offering an unmatched load rating (207), ultra-reinforced structure, and ground-protecting, high-efficiency design.
World’s largest ag tire: a true field powerhouse
The tire was developed in partnership with J&M Manufacturing to equip their all-new giant grain cart. It’s a premium alternative to the popular IF1250/50R32, aimed at OEMs looking for higher performance. Thanks to Improved Flexion (IF) technology, this tire offers up to 20% more load at the same pressure, or the same load at reduced pressure. That translates to less soil compaction and better weight distribution.
As a Cyclic Field Operation (CFO) tire, it’s built to withstand fluctuating loads at low speeds, such as during grain loading/unloading or repeated passes along the same track. This capacity provides significant wear reduction, greater stability, and optimal performance under demanding field conditions.
The advanced design of the IF1400/45R42 includes cross-ply steel belts to reinforce the casing against deformation, punctures, and extreme pressure. On top of that, the high stubble-resistant compound ensures a long service life even in corn or soybean fields known for abrasive stubble.
Yokohama’s technical expertise, from field to road
This record-breaking ag tire may never roll under your car, but it’s a spectacular demonstration of Yokohama’s ability to push the limits of tire engineering. That same level of precision, durability, and innovation is reflected in the passenger tires we rely on every day, whether for city driving, long road trips, or off-road adventures.
Take the Yokohama Avid Ascend GT, for example, a touring tire praised for its quiet, comfortable ride and exceptional wet traction. Or the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015, a trusted choice for winter conditions, uneven roads, and off-road excursions. If Yokohama can move tons of grain while protecting the soil, imagine what they can do for your car. Whether it’s for winter, long commutes, or rough urban terrain, Yokohama tires bring confidence, performance, and longevity to every journey.
